The story of Jesus sending 70 disciples out into the world to share the Gospel is found in the 10th Chapter of Luke. Here is Jesus' well-known statement, The harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few. In this sermon, Pastor Steve Herder of Ascension Lutheran Church in Thousand Oaks, California talks about what that means to us today. Indeed, Jesus sends us out into the world as well. He intended for the church to keep growing and expanding. He sent those disciples in pairs, as lambs into the midst of wolves. Let us take a message from that, bear in mind that we can draw strength in the faith with a buddy system, and watch for those people who may be "solo" so that we may reach out to them. The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few -- there is urgency about these words, and hopefulness too. Listen to join in that hope.
