In today's world, we are bombarded with images of power, from TV depictions of tycoons to real-life politicians and other figures. We see how power can lead to violence between people and groups and nations -- war -- and how power can thus become a scary word. Looking at the beginning of Jesus' ministry as we continue our study of the Bible via The Story, Reverend Dr. Tim Delkeskamp talks about the expectations awaiting the Messiah. Surely, Jesus showed immense power -- but it turned out that he chose not to use power as expected of him. Instead, he chose a power that was patient, kind, not envious or arrogant, not boastful or rude...a power that never fails.
